Class Pricing:
The Newton Dance Company has a flat fee per month for classes. This fee is based on the number of classes each student is taking and how many students are from the same household. Here is a breakdown of the costs (prices subject to change):
1 student, 1 class: $50/month.
Two students or classes on the same account is $50/month for the first student/class, and $40/month for the second.
3rd through 4th additional class or student on the same account: $40/month each
Fifth class or student and up on same account: $35/month each additional class
Some examples:
1 student, 1 class = $50/month
1 student, 2 classes = $90/month ($50 for the first class, $40 for the second class)
2 students, 1 class each = $90/month ($50 for the first student, $40 for the second student)
2 students, 2 classes each = $170/month ($50 for the first student, $40 for the first student's second class, $40 for the second student, and $40 for the second student's second class)
All other combinations follow this same pattern.
The fees are due the first week of classes each month. Late fees are assessed on any balances unpaid after the 10th of each month and are strictly enforced.

BACKGROUND:
Started as a dream when a Junior in High School, Allison's love and passion for dance couldn't be contained. In 1990, Allison accomplished two things: she planted the seed and SJDC was born at South Jefferson, and she started teaching on her own in the community in the form of Summer sessions.
After college, from 1995 to 2005, Allison was running a full-fledged business Monday through Thursday at her Studio, and also running the SJDC Thursday through Saturday at the High School. In 2005 after a total of 15 years working at the High School, Allison left SJDC to pursue bigger ambitions with her studio, as classes were growing. Studio classes were expanded to handle demand and her own performance-based Company was formed. Allison performs much of the same duties as before, but now under one roof and done without the restrictions and constraints that come with working in the public school system. As a result, Allison has more opportunity to push her creativity in Modern/Contemporary choreography, one of her favorite styles.
Allison has a reputation for intricate, layered choreography that push composition and technique. Married with unique music choices, creative lighting and costuming, and an overall polished production, NDC shows stand out.

COMPANY:
After 10 years of being sole director of the SJDC, Allison decided to fulfill a longtime dream- start a performance-based Company of her own, free from the constraints that come with working within a school system. Starting in 2005, the NDC Companies were formed. The Company has been restructured many times over the years and is now known as NDC eXtreme for the older, more advanced dancers, and NDC Troupe for the younger dancers.
The Company performs an annual Christmas Show in late November early December, and has a large Spring performance held in April or May. Over the past several years, the Company has participated in Watertown-based Dance World's "Dance 4 Life" Relay for Life Team benefit for the American Cancer Society. Each year the NDC Company Dancers raised over $2000 for this great cause and provided the sound system for the event.
